Get answers to common questions about Dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning uses a sterile 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape away dead skin cells and peach fuzz, revealing smoother, brighter skin. It’s a manual exfoliation performed by licensed estheticians with minimal discomfort and immediate visible results.

Dermaplaning is generally safe for many skin types but requires assessment first. It’s not recommended for active inflammatory acne or open lesions. Our estheticians evaluate skin condition and may recommend alternative treatments to avoid irritation or worsening of active breakouts.

Results usually last three to four weeks, depending on individual skin cell turnover and hair regrowth. Many clients schedule monthly sessions for consistent brightness, while combining treatments or targeted homecare can extend benefits between visits.

No dermaplaning removes the top of the hair and skin cells but does not affect hair follicles. Regrowth appears the same as before, typically soft and fine. It won't cause thicker, darker hair or permanent texture changes.

Avoid retinoids, strong exfoliants, and recent chemical peels for at least 48–72 hours before dermaplaning. Arrive with clean skin and avoid excessive sun exposure or waxing. Our team will review your routine and advise any necessary pre-treatment steps.

Yes, dermaplaning pairs well with many treatments—especially hydrating facials, customized peels at appropriate strengths, and LED therapy. Our providers tailor combinations to skin type and timing, ensuring safety and optimal results while minimizing irritation or sensitivity.
